Therapy for LGBTQIA+ and Gender Affirmation
I offer a safe, well informed, and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those seeking gender-affirming care. People seek this support for many reasons: navigating the coming-out process, exploring gender identity and their unique gender journey, or simply finding therapy that sees and celebrates every part of them. My work is dedicated to healing the impacts of homo-, bi-, and transphobia, facilitating gender spectrum exploration, and supporting individuals through transition. Our community is uniquely vibrant and diverse. I am passionate about celebrating its strengths while navigating its specific challenges, including exploring the complexities of polyamorous relationships with understanding and without judgment.
In a world where transphobic rhetoric and harmful legislation create immense challenges, finding truly supportive care is more critical than ever. I provide specialized, dedicated support for transgender and gender-expansive youth and their families. My goal is to help you navigate this journey with confidence, access desired medical interventions, and empower your teen or tween to live fully as their authentic self.
As a queer-identified therapist who is the parent of a genderqueer, trans/nonbinary adult, I bring not only professional expertise but also a deep personal understanding of this path. This lived experience allows me to offer compassionate guidance to parents and families as they navigate the challenges, questions and joys of their child’s journey. I understand the importance of acceptance and exploration without a predetermined agenda.
My gender affirmation therapy is informed by my affiliation with WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health), ensuring evidence-based care, education, and respect. I am an active advocate for a world where all gender identities and expressions are met with dignity and access to essential services. My commitment is reflected in my professional affiliations as a provider with Mind the Gap (affiliated with the UCSF Benioff Gender Clinic) and as a board member of Gaylesta, the Psychotherapist Association for Gender and Sexual Diversity. I believe every person deserves to be seen and supported, free from blame or shame. All are welcome here.
“Molly is creative and flexible. She brings a wide range of techniques to her therapeutic approach and is constantly learning. The tools and resources she has provided us have helped us reduce our anxiety and support our child on their gender journey.”
“Some therapists will say they have experience with working with Trans clients when they really don’t. Molly is the probably one of the only Cis therapists I would trust. She absolutely knows what she’s doing. She listens, she understands, she’s respectful and she’s smart. It’s obvious that she cares, but it’s also really important to me that she works through a social justice lens. She doesn’t shy away from the realities of what I face as a trans female.”
